I wished for a flower, you grew me a garden...

Music was the first love of my life. I became interested in singing when I was 8 years old. I vividly remember the first song I was assigned to learn when I enrolled in private voice lessons—an Italian aria, 'Caro Mio Ben'. Most singers encounter it at some point as a rite of passage. Initially, I wasn’t happy about it, as I was more interested in learning showtunes from Wicked or Les Miserables. Little did I know, this seemingly simple aria marked the beginning of a lifelong journey into classical music.

I continued my dedicated classical studies through junior high and high school, performing and competing locally and regionally on a weekly basis. I had the privilege of performing as a soloist with multiple symphonies and studying under high-level teachers and programs. When the time came to apply for college, the decision to pursue a degree in classical vocal performance at San Diego State University was abundantly clear.

After college, I decided to step away from music performance because I felt disconnected from the product I was sharing, something deeply personal to me.

During my time away from performing, my love for music deepened, but in a completely different form—electronic music. Nothing has captivated me like the punchy 4-on-the-floor kick, syncopated basslines, and lush synths. For nearly a decade, I immersed myself in electronic music, traveling globally to experience my favorite artists in unique venues. In 2020, during lockdown, I delved into sound design but, like many, felt overwhelmed without proper guidance or support and moved on to my next project.

In early 2023, after traveling through Asia with my beloved boyfriend, I mentioned my interest in creating music. As a fellow musician, his enthusiastic response led to the creation of a music studio that took over our largest room. One of my favorite songs I’ve written since then starts with the line, “I wished for a flower, you grew me a garden,” a direct homage to his support.

In March 2024, I released my first album—a tech-house/pop crossover that is 100% authentically me. I created the entire project from start to finish by myself, and I can honestly say I’ve never been prouder of anything I’ve created in my life. I’m grateful to finally express myself musically in a way that feels true to who I am.
